Food Pantry thanks: Hamilton Christian Academy Fellowship of Christain Athletes in conjunction with the Youth group at First Baptist Church, Westlake participated in World vision's "30 Hour Famine" March 18-19th. The group adopted Haiti as their project. Each group has to raise at least $100 to register their project with World Vision. The 'famine' began on Friday at noon. The youth stayed through the night at First Baptist playing games and doing activities.
HCA has a 40 hours of Community service requirement for graduation. The Youth group incorporated that requirement into the 'famine' project. On Saturday morning the youth divided into small groups to do service projects. Our Food pantry was helped by Cody, Addie, Abby, Rosie and Cean, accompanied by Patricia Benoit. The youth volunteers sorted a recent food delivery, stocked shelves, broke down boxes and divided larger amounts of food into smaller packages to be distributed through the food pantry.
